While in Amritsar, i got the opportunity to visit the Jalian Wala Bagh. This was the place where General Dyer ordered firing on the Indians in the year 1919 the day of Baisakhi festival in Punjab. Its said that over a thousand persons were killed in this firing and many more injured. Many jumped into the well to save their lives and the well itself converted into a burial for them. You can still view the bullet marks at various places in this bagh. Just felt very sad after visiting this site and prayed for all those who were killed by the British forces for no fault.
